-The Anastasia Project-

"Anastasia Lost"
Original Piece by Robyn Olague
This illustration appears in the first chapter of my book The Anastasia Project. The original work was done by my illustrator and good friend, Robyn. The illustration was refined by me for the Dolphin Star Publishing edition. It is a correlated illustration.
Robyn conceived the idea to let Anastasia appear silhouetted to show misplacement in the world she has been abandoned within. The layout in this illustration was all done by Robyn.
"Anastasia Wandering"
In this illustration, Anastasia is shown beneath the water swimming lonesomely. Her tail is faded to give the impression of depth and "materialization," since the narrative in the book portrays Anastasia withdrawn, lost, confused, misplaced, and overall carrying an illusory, ghostly state of being.
"The Crash Site"
In this piece, Anastasia stumbles upon a dark discovery.
Again, she is portrayed as silhouetted, an effect originally conceived by Robyn Olague, my co-illustrator. Rays of sunlight are "leading" her toward what's lying in the trench below. The rocky terrain also as a leading effect, drawing the eyes toward the base of the illustration.

"The Intrusive Oracle"
A piece that shows surprise and conveys a sense of threat. Only hints are given to the intruding creature into Anastasia's space, leaving the reader to use the imagination.
-Underwing-
"Jeiokha and Ameia"
This piece, portraying two characters from my latest book, Underwing, is meant to emit a fun vibe of unity and continuity. There's also a bit of contrast between the expression and personalities between the two characters: one snake is hanging down animatedly with a more dynamic personality while the other is more reserved and defensive. This particular scene is themed around an erupting, reactive friendship between two beings thawing a cold lonesomeness: which is expressed by the bright glow in the center surrounded by a dark ring.
"Aurtemis's Nephews"
This illustration depicts three wolf pups, each with a different personality, stopping abruptly to see something in front of them. It was interesting to render the thoughts and emotions on these three characters and bring them more fully to life in the narrative.
-Gust's Maze-
A book by Marcia Andrade
These next few illustrations were works for hire. I do not own them.

This is an illustration I was hired to do for author Marcia Andrade. In this illustration, "Gust" is shown offering his bottle of tea to an old, poor woman on the dim, snowy streets. It was a fun illustration to work on while always striving to capture the vision of my employer, which I prioritized in my work.

This following illustration depicts a peasant girl, another character in Andrade's book, finding a doll. The doll will turn out to be more than what she seems...

These vampire bat monsters from Gusts's Maze wing in the darkness searching the ground.

A wand lies encased in a glass box at the end of a hallway. There is something hiding behind it...
I delighted in working for Marcia Andrade and her book, Gust's Maze.
Her book is Available on Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble.
- Posters -
"Autism is Real Series"

"Autism is Real" is a short series of posters I originally did as an digital design assignment in class. I was later asked by a special education teacher if she would allow me to use them at the High School she worked at. I wanted to address awareness and compassion for those on the autism spectrum. The posters go out to both teachers and students, illustrating graphically what being on the spectrum is sometimes like.
-Book Covers-

These book covers are redone by me for Dolphin Star Publishing. It was fun to tackle them and redesign them.
That's about it for my portfolio. Thanks for your interest.
